butterflies

I can feel the baby! I know people are going to think I'm crazy for thinking I can feel the baby at 12 weeks, but I swear I feel him/her. I still can't find the heartbeat with the doppler, but I swear, it feels like there's butterflies in my belly...With Andrew I didn't know what this feeling was, but I really think I'm feeling Itty Bitty in there! It only happens right before I fall asleep at night or right when I wake up in the morning, but its there and I just KNOW its Itty Bitty. Such a cool feeling. :)

Had my 3rd ultrasound this week...Wednesday was my 11-12 week visit and the OB said it might be too early to hear the h/b with the doppler so he just did an u/s. YAY!! I got to see Itty Bitty jumping and swimming all over the place...It was awesome. I tried to see if there were any little boy parts, but I couldn't tell. My mom still thinks its a girl. The h/b was in the 160's and she said that definitely means its a girl. We shall see...I still think boy. At least one of us is right! :)

As far as the morning (ahem, all day) sickness is concerned, IT HAS PASSED! (Knock on wood.) Its been two weeks since I last threw up. :) Now that I say that, I'll get sick for sure, but whatever! I am enjoying it! Still EXTREMELY tired, but managing. I'm weaning off the progesterone (down to once a day, then off completely in one week), so that helps. I am so glad to be out of school for the holidays. We go on a cruise Jan. 5-10 so I will miss the first week back. Darn. :)

To anyone still checking in, THANKS! Hope you and yours have a fabulous Christmas and here's to a wonderful 2008!

another scare

Well, yesterday I woke up to the sight of dried blood in my underwear. I promptly freaked out and told Chris, who was on his way out the door (he's a preacher and yesterday was Sunday, so he was headed to church). He freaked and prayed as I went to the bathroom to check, but there was nothing so we sighed a huge sigh of relief and went on with our day. Later on, I took a nap with Andrew, and when I woke up, I again saw a spot of brown blood on my underwear. I prayed all night long.
Today I went to work and told my principal what was happening. I told him that I was not currently bleeding so unless I began to bleed again, things would be fine and I would go to the doctor on my day off. He said that was not going to happen and told me to call immediately. I went in today at noon, and THANK GOD all is well. I have a bladder infection, but Itty Bitty is growing and measuring right on time. Strong heartbeat, strong baby, despite my anxiety and worry. We got a printout of the u/s and I will try to post it later. So cute...little hands and feet, huge head! Chris saw the umbilical cord and said "Its a boy! And what a boy!" Hahahahahaha...Just kidding. He's not that stupid. Its a line from The Simpsons. :)

So anyway....Worry, stress, fear...but all is well.
