The UTI that won't go away!
Ugh, I am STILL suffering from this UTI. I've been on abx for two weeks now (a shot, then a 7-day course of Macrobid, then 3 days of shots, and now starting Augmentin). Apparently, this specific kind of infection is resistant to everything else but they think it will respond to the Augmentin. I sure hope so. I am so sick of being sick. My digestive system is so screwed up with all these abx pumping through my system. Last night I woke up with HORRIBLE cramping. Seriously. It woke me up and scared me to death. I got out the doppler and Itty Bitty seems fine, but wow, I was scared. OK, enough complaining. Off to look for happier news out there in the blogosphere!

back to the land of the living
Thanks, girls! I appreciate the thoughts and prayers! After five days in bed (three days with fever) subsisting on nothing but saltines and Sprite, I am back to life. I had a follow-up appt with my doctor, though, and my UTI is back again (was gone on Tuesday, but is back today) along with an ear infection and hey - the cough has become bronchitis! Crap! I had another antibiotic shot, and will get two more (one tomorrow, one Sunday) before a re-check on Monday. Sheesh. This baby had better be a girl, with all this drama going on! Dang!Itty Bitty continues to do well, though, despite my body being under attack! The h/b was in the 150's at my OB appt on Tuesday and he/she is very active...My big u/s is scheduled for Feb. 18th at 9 am and I am SO excited. I can't wait to see him/her again and find out if its a boy or girl! Everyone around me in convinced its a girl, so there will be a lot of shock if its indeed a boy!
OK, I gotta run, but wanted to update...Thanks again for checking in!

update
We're back! The cruise was so much fun, despite the drama of being with 8 other family members and friends...Cozumel was GORGEOUS. I hope to share pics soon.As soon as I woke up the last morning on the ship (the day we docked), I had this little cough. No big deal, I thought. Well, after breakfast (TMI alert!) I started coughing so hard I threw up EVERYTHING. Gross. All the way home in the car (we drove to the port) I was coughing like a freak and couldn't eat a thing. When we got home Thursday night, I was feeling like I'd been hit by a mack truck. I took some Tylenol, took a bath, and tried to eat the wonderful dinner my mom had made. Not 30 minutes later it all came up as well. I started running a fever of 101-102 that would.not.come.down. I took Tylenol every hour from 11 pm-2 am and it FINALLY broke. I went to the doctor Friday where I was diagnosed with a "raging UTI" (her words, not mine). She gave me a HUGE shot of antibiotics, plus three prescriptions...one antibiotic for the UTI and two for the coughing/congestion. Despite all this my fever keeps coming back and my cough is still horrible. Since Thursday night, all I've been able to keep down is saltines, cranberry juice, and Sprite. Even WATER comes up immediately. So weird. I have a call in to my OB (yes, I called on a Sunday) to see if there is anything more I can do to bring down the fever and get better. I am worried about a possible kidney infection and definitely worried about the baby. Thank God I have a doppler and can hear a nice, steady h/b (160's-170's every time!). I just worry about the fever's effect on the baby's development. Does anyone know more about this?
Ugh, I HATE being the crazy paranoid pregnant woman. But I believe I have reason to be.

Cruisin'...
I'm so excited! :) Tomorrow morning Chris and I are leaving to go on a cruise! Yay! We're going to Cozumel and Progreso, Mexico with practically all of Chris' family, so this should be fun and interesting. :) Andrew is staying here with my dad and stepmom part of the time, then my mom and stepdad will come in and stay with him the rest of the time. At least he gets to be at home. He's been a nightmare this week...He has a bad, bad cold and an ear infection but at least we caught it before my parents got here and didn't know what to do. They have medical authorization to get help if needed, but I really hope they don't have to use it. He totally senses something is up and has been super-clingy all day the past two days. I know he will be fine, but it will be SO hard to leave my little man for the first time!!! At least we will be able to check our email on the cruise so we can check in and make sure he is OK.Anyway, we are leaving in the morning and will be back on the 10th (Thursday). Interesting pictures and stories will result, I'm sure!
